fertilizer for new lawn

0

I just had 11 pallets of Fescue laid in my yard and I'm wondering what will be the best fertilizer for this new lawn. I haven't done anything yet and have heard some of the liquid fertilizers are pretty good and maybe best for new turf. Any suggestions?

The first thing we always suggest when it comes to lawn care is that you get a good handle on the soil PH where you want to grow grass. SOIL PH is vital and if you don't have a SOIL PH METER, get one and make sure the soil is balanced before you attempt to do anything else.

Once you know the PH is Ok, apply some LIQUID FERTILIZER following the rates we have listed in our FERTILIZER CONTROL article. There is no doubt this formulation will promote healthy green grass and get vital nutrients into the soil and readily available which is important when laying new turf. Ideally the soil should have been prepared prior to laying the sod but now that it's in place, we'll have to make any needed ajustments with the grass already installed. Hopefully the lawn PH is Ok and if so, a treatment with the Liquid Fertilizer will provide some much needed food and nutriets for sure. At this time it would be wise to keep it moist and protected so don't let anyone walk over it excessively till you know what the PH is.
